Take a break and visit a Stately Home

4 April 2017

It’s April, nearly Easter, and Britain’s grandest houses have opened for the season following a winter slumbering under dustsheets. Escape for a few days away at one of these fabulous pubs with rooms, all tantalisingly close to the gates of a famous stately home (or two), so perfect for enjoying a cultural guided tour of the historic house and exploring the gardens and vast estates on foot as spring comes to life. Our top spring boltholes are walking distance or an easy drive from, among others, Castle Howard, Burghley House, magnificent Blickling Hall, and Sissinghurst Castle’s gorgeous gardens.  For even more options of where to stay click here.
